For Young People

Hearing that question again?

It seems like just about everyone you meet wants to know.

"What are you going to do next?"

You might be choosing subjects at school or weighing up what comes after school: uni, an apprenticeship or traineeship, or a job.

You know you need an answer. You just need to find one that’s right for you.

The world of work can feel like a maze

Maybe you have so many ideas you can’t choose between them.

Maybe you have exactly, well, none.

Or maybe there's a plan that sounds right to someone else, just not to you.

What if we could help you find your way through?

And what if exploring what’s out there was easier - and a little more fun - than you might imagine?

Not your average career quiz

You’ve probably done some free online quiz. The question asks, “Would you rather work in a factory or perform on a stage?”

You ponder for a second and think, “Um... neither?” So what are you supposed to do with that?

Work Sync is different. We show you short videos of different kinds of work in action.

After each video, we ask a simple question: “Does this type of work interest you?” You just tap a tick, a cross or a question mark if you’re unsure. That’s it. Easy as.

And in around 15 minutes, you’ll have a clearer picture of your work interests. Then you can explore where they might lead you in the world of work.

Making sense of the world of work

Explore the Work Sync Map

Now, here’s where the magic happens.

The Work Sync Map takes that huge world of work and groups it into eight themes, each with three more specific work domains.

The result is a detailed, downloadable Work Interest Summary personalised to your combination of work interests.

It brings all those ticks, crosses and question marks together to show how your interests fit into the big picture.

From there, you can start to see a path that feels right for you.

And the other great thing? You can come back anytime, change your response, and explore your new options.

Okay, but what could I actually do?

Quite a lot, actually. Wayfinder connects your work interests with real occupations, so you can see where your interests might lead.

The work you ticked leads to occupations you can explore.

The work you marked with a question mark stays in the mix too.

And the work you crossed? Nope. Off your radar, so you can focus on what interests you.

Wayfinder draws on more than 1,400 occupations. We reckon you’ll find some you didn’t know existed, and plenty you’d never have thought to search for. See what each one involves, dismiss those that don't appeal, and save the ones that make you want to know more.

Your saved list keeps those possibilities together, ready to revisit or download and share with someone when that question comes up again.

I really enjoyed the videos and found them an easy way to explore my career interests, and the Wayfinder was super helpful in showing me the kinds of jobs I might like. Now I’m considering a career in marketing.”
